League Age Charts Baseball 2026 Age Chart Softball 2026 Age Chart Challenger 2026 Age ChartTo determine your child's league age use the baseball, softball or Challenger (special needs division) age charts. Please note that when placing players in the Fall Seasons we use next year's age chart. The purpose is to prepare those players that would have to move up in the spring to the division they would be playing in at that time. Challenger League (Special Needs Division)
The Little League Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18 (or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school), to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. Today more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide.
There are 2 Challenger Divisions offered, Little League (4-18 years old, or up to 22 if still enrolled in high school) and Senior Challenger (Ages 15+).
Princess Anne Little League will offer both Little League and Senior Challenger Divisions.
In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance at bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster, or when a pre-determined number of runs have been scored, or when three outs are recorded. A soft, Tee Ball-style baseball is used during games. Little League recommends that no score be kept during Challenger games.
Games are played on Sundays. There are 3-5 games per season.
The PALL Challenger Program is free. The Challenger Division encourages the use of “buddies” for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
